Muddy

This is not a very good poem, and it's only the first draft, but I need to get it out there, so bear with me on this one.

...jumbled...
shaken.....
muddy from the
tears i've cried....

...confused...
unsure....
choking on the
tears i've cried....

...hateful...
joyful....
lost in the
tears i've cried....

...revolutionary...
tough....
loving through
the tears i've cried....

how to explain
the way i feel
inside?

Bible verse: Psalm 3:4 "To the Lord I cry aloud, and he answers me from his holy hill."

Not that Girl

Hands touch, eyes meet
Sudden silence, sudden heat
Hearts leap in a giddy whirl
He could be that boy
But I'm not that girl:

Don't dream too far
Don't lose sight of who you are
Don't remember that rush of joy
He could be that boy
I'm not that girl

Ev'ry so often we long to steal
To the land of what-might-have-been
But that doesn't soften the ache we feel
When reality sets back in

Blithe smile,
lithe limb
She who's winsome,
she wins him
Gold hair with a gentle curl
That's the girl he chose
And Heaven knows
I'm not that girl:

Don't wish, don't start
Wishing only wounds the heart
I wasn't born for the rose and the pearl
There's a girl I know
He loves her so
I'm not that girl:

-Wicked (the musical)

Bible verse of the night: I know I've used this one before, but the reminder is always good. So Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."

Goodbye

God chooses silly moments
ones that make us laugh
to remind us that life
is short; He brings joy
when peace can't be found
so our hearts don't collapse.
He reminds us that home
is not so far away; and
love is never gone. We
must cry to flush away
the bad, but laugh to
usher in the joy. When
the heart is weak
God gives strength through
laughter and reminds us
that goodbye is not forever.

Bible verse of the day: 1 Corinthians 15: 54-55 "When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable and the mortal with immoratality, then the saying that is written will come true: 'Death has been swallowed up in victory.' Where O death is your victory? Where O death is your sting?"
