Hebrews
If you read my last post you probably thought I was having a bad week and that things would get better, but I bet you didn't realize that my faith was kinda lacking. And by kinda I mean that my faith has been scraping the bottom of the barrel. I've known that I just needed some one on one time with God, but I just didn't know when I could make that time. Isn't that horrible, not being "able" to make time for God. Well we can't make time, only God can do that, but we need to learn how to manage our time better. Sorry for the tangent. Anyway I spent all afternoon just reading God's word and spending some time in prayer. It was Amazing. I took a blanket to a local park, and just laid down. I slept some, but really just enjoyed God's presence and learned from Him.
I wanted to look more into faith and what it actually is. I knew that Hebrews 11 was a famous chapter on the faith of our forefathers. What I didn't realize was that the entire book is about faith. I was flipping through to get to chapter 11 when my eye caught a passage that I had circled at some other time. It was Hebrews 6:12 "The word of the Lord is alive and active. Sharper than any double edged sword....." That really caught me off gaurd. I have been living in a way that is so contrary to that verse. I have been reading the Bible as a sort of history book that has good morals and good ideas for living. I understand that God is the great "I am" and Jesus is the savior of the earth, but I didn't understand/realize the importance of the word of God. I was immediately captivated and read the entire rest of the book of Hebrews. IT was absolutely amazing.
To top it all off the weather this week has been absolutely insanely wonderful. A week ago we were experienceing 3 days of some of the biggest storms I've ever seen. They were awesome and carried so much power and electricity. The ground was crying out for rain and God supplied abundantly! Then all week long it has been sunny with a high of low 80's. Cool breezes sweep up and down campus keeping the walk to class just right. Huge puffy clouds, the ones that look like bunnies and cotton candy, have filled the skies. I am just constantly reminded of God's beauty as well as his power and majesty. What a mighty God we serve!
Although my week was hard and I spent some time crying I know now that God is completely in control. My faith isn't perfect, but it will continue to grow and mature. Therefore I leave you with two things first: Read the book of Hebrews....It is soooo cool, and second
Verse of the night: Hebrews 11:1 "Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see."

Wow. I am glad that everything seems to be working out for you. I wish that I could have seen you or something this last summer but I was so busy as I am sure you were. E-mail me or something and we can talk or maybe even get together next time you are around Kansas.
