Thanksgiving...a few days late
I realized I didn't post my annual list of what I was thankful for...so here it is a few days late! Thankfulness shouldn't be recognized just one day of the year anyway.
1). God's gift of eternal life through his son Jesus Christ
2). My family
3). My friends
4). The opportunity to go to Italy
5). Education
6). Underwear
7). Freedoms of this country
8). Hot water
9). The opportunity to have multiple good jobs
10). A KU victory against MU
Italy update: 45 days till departure
I have a study abroad orientation on Saturday. I'm getting more and more excited. I enroll for my classes on the 9th. I will be taking Media Ethics, Travel Writing, Business Communication in a Cultural Context, Italian for Travelers, and Business-Culture-and Society.
I'm very excited for the Travel writing class, the Italian class, and the Culture class. Ethics shouldn't be too hard and its a required class that I'll be getting out of the way.
The Business Coms class will be good because I don't know much about cross cultural business coms. One of my professors made the comment that by 2035 or 2040 the United States will be a "minority majority." That means that the total number of people in minorities will out number the majority race. Thats crazy, but not necissarily bad. What a great opportunity to experience all the different kinds of people God has created.
Cultures are not just determined by race. I am part of the KU culture. When I graduate I'll be part of the KU alumni culture. I'm also part of the Christian culture, the theatre culture, the journalism culture, the scholarship hall culture. Its amazing all the different aspects that make up people.
I guess this whole page of rambling just goes to show that I am thankful for God's creativeness when He created the world and all the people. Its just another reason to praise HIM!
Verse of the day: 2 Corinthians 2:14 "But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of knowledge of him."

nice list. about the salsa dancing, maybe, it's a bit different, and everyone dances in a big circle here, it's well outta my element. and the clubs are sketchy. I really miss lawrence. haha, it's church and officers club for me haha. how are things?
haha, schol hall kids not in the dancing element. I can see it now. Haha, I could have taken you through swing, (east coast and jitterbug) then southwestern style salsa, and maybe a country 2-step, if very formal, a waltz perhaps. haha. i enjoy it every now and then. It is warm here mostly, we have a cold front right now so it is chilly in the mornings and evenings. There is an indoor pool at the gym. I try to hit it 3 times and week and hit some weights later. I have to bulk up a bit for the fighter aircrew test so I can handle G-forces with ease. Other than that, hope you feel better soon!
